Legend's coup d'etat for the coach

Dortmund legend Marco Royce's coup d'etat seems to end in failure.

The German media "Barbarian Football" reported on the 25th, "The club leaders decided to support the coach. This put Marco Reus, the center of the coup, in an awkward position."

Dortmund is currently showing the worst performance in the league. It fell to the fifth place with seven wins, six draws and three losses, and is 15 points behind Leverkusen, the first-place finisher. And on the 21st, it was reported that Royce, the captain, staged a coup.

This summer, Terzic, a friend of Royce's, showed his trust in the club by renewing contracts with Hummels and Royce in exchange for the return of the captaincy. Royce accepted these conditions and started the season with a good performance. However, things were gradually changing subtly due to the collapse of Dortmund, which is currently playing its worst first half.

In the game against Augsburg, Royce directly showed the relationship between the two when he received Terzic's handshake in the 13th minute of the second half. Terzic did not put Royce off the bench since then, even though he showed a graduation match against Mainz.

Royce as well as his teammates Julian Brandt, Gregor Covel, and Niklas Fülkruk have also been unswervingly and sharply critical of the coach's tactics and playing time. But the club leaders have sided with Terzic, the coach. 스포츠중계

According to German media Bild reports, terzic has already responded to the coup, leaving Royce on the bench against Mainz. Royce may be relegated to the backup or even threatened to be deported to the stands.

With Royce on Germany's Euro 2024 list and still holding out hope for another contract extension at Borussia Dortmund, the manager's retaliation could potentially mean his career as a Dortmund legend could end.

However, with the locker room already opposing the coach, there are questions about whether Terzic will be safe after such acts of retaliation. Despite his resignation as captain, Royce is still an important figure in the team and a favorite of his fans.

Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, Marco Reus sent a video message to thank Dortmund fans. "I wanted to say thank you to our fans for their tremendous support this year," he began.

He continued, "Sometimes I know it's not easy. But we're still very grateful that you're there for us and you've always supported us in any era."

With the leadership supporting Terzic and not replacing him, it has to be seen until the end how Royce's future will end.
